Running with their success of their larger 1/10th scale cars and trucks, Traxxas have now thrown their energy into developing these mini 1/16th scale versions of their larger cousins.

The 1/16th Traxxas Slash and E Revo share the same basic chassis layout, based on the excellent full size Traxxas Revo suspension setup. This provides an excellent and proven platform for the 1/16th scale cars and ensures they handle aswell as the larger versions, if not even better!

Both the 1/16th Slash and E Revo are available in brushed and brushless formats, depending on your thirst for power and budget! Both variants are capable of taking dual batteries for impressive speeds, the choice is simply up to you.

This little truck is amazing fun and just like the big ERevo in the way it drives. The suspension is super plush and soaks up irregularities, allowing the body to move with uncanny smoothness. I chose to get the series connector and extra NiMh pack, but find this setup a bit fickle. The batteries have quite bad memory affect and when new it took a lot of charge cycles to get them to wake up and deliver proper voltage. Similarly if they are left a while without a charge; the truck just cogs and doesn't want to go. I picked up a mini 2s liPo and this is much easier to use and gives more punch, with easy wheelies on demand and 30mph top speed, which feels fast for such a small RC. I will probably avoid 3s as it may be overpowered and affect drivetrain durability, although the chassis is so controlled it will probably take it just fine. Overall, a great little machine to drive and easy to store at home, but my recommendation would be to go with LiPo for more fun and reliability.

What size pinion do I need for it to go 80km ?

Maxiumum gearing is 28/45

The 28t pinion is for high speed runs that will give around 50 mph on a 3s lipo battery with the 45t spur gear.

These come with a 12v fast charger, so will work from any cigar lighter outlet. You can buy the 2976T power adapter with a UK plug to use in the house.
